The Knorris were a popular type of vegetable in the UK in the early 1900s.
I don’t think anyone really knows how to make one of these but if you can cook them up, you can probably make a tasty winter smoothie.
They were a staple for the British people and you can still find them in most supermarkets and delis around the UK.
They are very good for those who live in colder climates, especially when it comes to knorr (salt-washed cabbage).
A typical Knorri smoothie has 3-4 cups of water, 4-5 carrots, 4 tablespoons of knorris ketchup, 2 teaspoons of ginger ale and 2 tablespoons of lime juice.
It’s a great recipe for a busy weeknight and it can easily be adapted to suit a busy weekend.
If you are looking for a good option for knorries, try my Knorridan smoothie recipe for more of an alternative to the regular Knorry smoothie, which is also available in different flavors.
The recipe I have is not a complete Knorrdan smoothy but it is similar enough to make a great holiday smoothie!
