Vegetables such as lettuce, carrots, cauliflower, and onions can all be eaten raw, but some contain trace amounts of hormones and antibiotics that can increase the risk of colorectal cancer.

Vegetarian groups have been calling for tighter regulation on foods containing dairy products, meat and eggs, while also demanding that the country introduce mandatory labelling of foods containing GMOs.
